Biography of Kenichi Nishizawa
Kenichi NISHIZAWA (March 9, 1978-) is a most unique composer - pianist in the young
generation of Japan. In 1993 (At age 15), he began his study in piano and composition.
In 1996, he was accepted to composition course of Kunitachi College of Music,
but leaves after a year of study. further on a year, in 1998, he became a prize winner
in many competitions.
He started his musical career with contemporary style. His teachers included Motoharu
Kawashima, as known composer with avant - garde style in Japan, and Franco Donatoni.
But he leaved these style after many complications, and got to try tonality, harmony,
counterpoint, many theories of classical music. This is a one of the ways that show a
ploblem in today, and solve the problem, he thought.

- (Dec.) He became a winning competitor at the 9th Suita Music Competition in Osaka,
of the composition division with his work Klaviertrio Nr.1

Piano Duo Music Composition in Tokyo with his work MANNER AND SUBSTANCE for 2
pianos 4 Hands

Chamber Music with his work HOLY GARDEN for Violin and Piano

- (Oct.) He composed Kammersymphonie für 7 Insutrumentalisten for Festival Sinaloa de las
